The envisaged sector development program, facilitated by strategic investments and policy backing, launched in 2022, aims to fortify the resilience of Georgia's electricity grid, refine the regulatory landscape, and facilitate increased private sector engagement in advancing renewable energy, encompassing wind, solar, and green hydrogen.

This proposed initiative intends to strengthen the nation's energy security through three key outcomes:

• Establishment of a sustainable policy and regulatory framework to enable the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Formulation of a comprehensive policy, strategy, and regulatory framework that fosters the development of green hydrogen, emphasizing active involvement from the private sector.
• Implementation of BESS installations to further enhance energy security measures.
