The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission has issued electricity generation license for LLC “Gardabani Thermal Power Plant 2”. The 230 MW Gardabani combined-cycle Thermal Power Plant located in Gardabani municipality has been put into operation this year.
The forecasted generation of gas-fired combined-cycle power plant is 1.2 billion kW/h. Modern combined-cycle thermal power plant ensures reliability and stability of the state’s electricity system, especially in winter, when the electricity generated by hydro power plants reaches the minimum.
Combined-cycle thermal power plant consists of: gas turbine “21” – with 75 MW nominal capacity, gas turbine “22” with 75 MW nominal capacity and steam turbine with 80 MW nominal capacity.
