Davit Narmania, the Chairman of the Georgian  National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), opened an energy conference organized by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). Davit Narmania addressed the participants of the meeting in a welcoming speech, he focused on the importance of the contribution and support of USAID and NARUC for the energy sector of Georgia. David Hoffman, representative of USAID, Emiliya Bagirova, representative of NARUC, and Olga Terenteva, representative of Power Central Asia/Tetra Tech, gave a speech at the meeting together with the Chairman of GNERC.

"GNERC has a 25-year history of cooperation with USAID and NARUC. Within the framework of cooperation, we have received and are receiving enormous experience, and valuable information from regional programs, conferences, and bilateral meetings. Today we are ready to share our experience with other countries that are now going through the stages that GNERC has gone through for 25 years. There are many projects according to which GNERC is outstanding among the regulatory commissions of different countries, therefore, in order to share experience, we will take an active part in the meetings organized by USAID & NARUC in the future," said Davit Narmania. 

On September 26-30, meetings organized by USAID & NARUC will be held in Tbilisi, in which the heads of regulatory commissions and government agencies of Central Asian countries will participate. GNERC representatives will share their experience on energy sector regulation, tariff policy, finance, and logistics issues with the meeting participants. Besides, they will talk about the experience of public relations, the importance of cooperation with the media, and the "Media Club" project, which represents the best practices shared within the framework of the USAID & NARUC program.
