Chairman of Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, Mr. Davit Narmania, the first deputy of the Mayor of Kutaisi Municipality, Mr. Davit Eremeishvili and Energy Ombudsman, Ms. Salome Vardiashvili have opened a new office of Energy Ombudsman in Kutaisi. The office located at Grishashvili Str. N16 will assist the citizens on the issues related to electricity, natural gas and water supply.
According to Davit Narmania, existence of the representation of Energy Ombudsman in Kutaisi will ensure provision of the information to the electricity, natural gas and water supply sector consumers on their rights in a timely manner. Hereby, the specialists will consult the citizens and assist in protection of their rights and solving disputes with the utility companies.
“Currently energy reform is being carried out that envisages maximum protection of cosumers’ rights. It is necessary that each citizen is well-inform of their rights in the electricity, natural gas and water supply sectors, as well as of the novelties that have enacted from July 1 of this year. Important news have been in the electricity sector since July 1 as electricity supply companies for household consumers and small enterprises have changed and electricity is supplied by Tbilisi Electricity Supply Company – Telmico and EP Georgia Supply. The household tariffs remain unchanged. In case of any question the customers may apply the companies’ hotline or the Commission and the Energy Ombudsman” – stated Chairman of the Commission.
The consumers of electricity, natural gas and drinking water can contact the Commission or Energy Ombudsman’s Office via call center – 16 216 ( the call is free of charge fro many operator).
