The World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER) will take place in Georgia for the first time, which will be hosted by the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC). Leading energy organizations of Europe and other countries unanimously supported the holding of the largest forum of the energy sector worldwide in 2026.

More than 1000 high-ranking delegates will visit Tbilisi as part of the World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER). In particular, the ninth edition of World Forum will be attended by representatives of Europe and various countries, member states of the Energy Community, different associations, government agencies, energy and donor organizations. The current situation and challenges in the energy sector worldwide, investment issues and the role of renewable energies in the development of sustainable energy will be discussed at the forum. One of the main topics at the forum will be energy potential and investment environment of Georgia.

Under the aegis of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER), the World Forum om Energy Regulation has been held every 3 years since 2000. Along with various organizations, ICER's members include: Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA). In previous years, the host countries of the forum were: USA, Italy, Greece, Canada, Turkey, Mexico.
