The New Project Has Started at GNERC
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Funded New Project Has Started at GNERC
EBRD funded project has started at GNERC. The project “Advisory Support to Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC)” covers the harmonization of current normative acts in electricity and natural gas sectors with EU energy legislation and the exchange of best international practice. The project will be implemented by the German company „DNV GL - KEMA Consulting GmbH“.
Experts in the energy and water supply sectors participated in the kick off meeting of the project. Mr. Konstantin Petrov, Head of Policy and Regulation Section at „DNV GL - KEMA Consulting GmbH“, made a presentation on the project. Commissioner Gocha Shonia discussed the importance of the project and emphasized the significance of experience sharing of foreign experts for harmonization of normative acts of the Commission.
During 12 month implementation period the “DNV GL - KEMA Consulting GmbH“ experts will provide recommendations to GNERC on the following topics: calculation of losses in electricity and natural gas networks; quality of service regulation in electricity and natural gas sectors; licensing in gas sector; investment appraisal; unbundling of activities in gas sector; uniform system of accounting. In the framework of the project, uniform system of accounting will be implemented in the electricity sector.
